Amy & Kirk - May 14

This past Saturday I provided DJ service and up lighting for Amy and Kirk at the Duquesne Power Center in Pittsburgh. I got an email from Amy and Kirk the day after their reception that I will share here.

Tracy!!! Couldn't have asked for a better DJ! You went above and beyond with music and lighting!! Thank you soooo much for everything!!!!!!!! YOU WERE AWESOME!

It's always nice to get great feedback from a couple that you have worked worked with. It's especially gratifying to hear from them so soon after the wedding.

Here are a couple of images from the wedding. Both of these images are stills from the video that we shot. In a few weeks we will have a sample video from this wedding on line.

This second shot highlights the up lighting that I set up for Amy and Kirk. This was the first time that I provided up lighting at the Power Center and even with all of the windows, the lighting still looked great!

Amy and Kirk wanted a contemporary mix of music for the dancing portion of their evening and the guests loved it. The floor was packed all night! I'll have a highlight video of the reception on this blog in a couple of weeks. So check back to view the all the fun.

Lisa & Joe - Grand Concource - 4/30

On April 30th I traveled to the Grand Concourse in Pittsburgh to DJ the wedding of Lisa and Joe. The Grand Concourse, located in Station Square, is one of the most unique and beautiful reception sites in Pittsburgh.

Lisa and Joe (dancing together in the above photo) chose "Me and You" by Kenny Chesney for their first dance. Lisa danced with her dad to "I Loved Her First" and Joe and his mother shared a dance to "A Mother's Song".

Lisa's mom sent my company, Entertainment Tonite, a very nice note about my performance at the wedding reception.

Tracy was sensational at reacting to the crowd, and playing appropriate music. His expertise on timing, special events, and professional advice on the bridal dance, bouquet toss, etc was very helpful. I give Tracy major credit for making the reception so elegant, but so much fun too!

Curt's Photography (my brother) provided the photography service for the day. Here are a few more photos from the day.

For more photos from Lisa and Joe's wedding visit the Grand Concourse page on our website.

Alicia & Nathan - 4/23

On April 23 I provided DJ service for Alicia and Nathan's wedding at Banquets Unlimitied in Irwin. In addtion to my normal DJ set-up I also provided a video screen and projector so that the couple could show their love story video.

For their first dance Alicia and Nathan chose "How Do I Live". Alicia danced with her father to "I Loved Her First" and Nathan shared a dance with both his mom ("Mama") and step-mom ("What a Wonderful World").

Alicia chose to have a bridal dance with the traditional polka, which is always a good time!

As always, the service and the staff at Banquets Unlimited was terrific. Alicia and Nathan were fun and easy to work with. All in all it was a great night.

I just recieved a thank you note from Nathan, I will share it below.

My wife and I are very happy we chose you for our DJ service. We both received numerous compliments of how professional and courteous you were to the needs of the guests. We would like to thank you for your excellent service, you most certainly made our wedding night a memorable one! Thanks Again!!

Corrine & Judd - 4/9

On Saturday night I had the pleasure of working with Corrine and Judd at the University Club in Pittsburgh. I provided the DJ service for both their ceremony and reception. I also set up wireless microphones for both the rabbi and the minister during the ceremony.

During the cocktail and dinner hours I played an eclectic mix of older standards and newer favorites (Frank Sinatra to Jamie Cullum). Corrine, Judd and the bridal party were introduced into the ballroom with U2's Beautiful Day and the couple cut their cake to the Archie's Sugar, Sugar.

Crazy Love by Michael Buble was chosen as Corrine and Judd's first dance song. Once the dancing started the floor was packed all night! One of the highlights of the dancing was the playing of the traditional Hora. Corrine shared a dance with her father to the song I'll Always be Your Baby by Natalie Grant and Judd and his mom danced to Molly Pasutti's The Man You've Become.

My brother Curt from Curt's Photography was the photographer. You can see some of the wedding photographs by visiting this web page. I've also linked two photos to this blog post. The photos highlight the up lighting that I provided for the evening.

As a post script, I really want to thank Corrine and Judd for the very nice compliments they left me in the comment section of this blog post. I will reprint them below.

We couldn't have been any happier with how our special night turned out! We gave Tracy ideas of what music we liked and he did the rest - it was an amazing and fun evening! The up-lighting was beautiful and really made the room transform. The dance floor was packed the entire evening and our friends and family keep talking about how much fun they had. Thanks for the wonderful memories! Corrine and Judd

Pittsburgh DJ - Recent Events

Last weekend I had the pleasure of providing the DJ service for the annual father/daughter dance sponsored by Troop 1159 from Imperial PA.

This is the third year in a row that I have been involved with this event. It is always a great time. The party was again held at the Pittsburgh Technical Institute and everyone had a blast!

I also finished up my winter dance party schedule at Pluma in Irwin. Pluma has great entertainment on the weekends. Be sure to check out their weekly calendar for events and specials.

On Saturday I'll be performing at a wedding in Pittsburgh and on Sunday I am donating my services for the MS Walk at Point State Park. Please stop out and support this worthwhile cause.

Please check back here next week to view photos of the wedding up lighting that I will be providing for this Saturday's wedding.

Reception Entertainment

For those of you planning your wedding reception here's some food for thought.

*After the Vows

72% of all brides say they would have spent more time choosing their reception entertainment.

Almost 100% say they would have spent more of their budget on the entertainment.

Within one week after their reception, 78% of brides say they would have made the entertainment their highest priority!

When asked 81% of guests say the thing they remember most about a wedding is the entertainment.

65% of all couples that chose a band to entertain at their wedding, said, if they had it to do over again, they would have chosen a disc jockey.

Pittsburgh DJ - Shawna & Micheal 4/10

On Saturday April 10 I had the pleasure of being the DJ at Shawna & Michael Koprucki's wedding reception. The wedding reception was held at St. Nick's Greek Orthodox Hall in Oakland. Johanna Seese is the coordinator at St. Nick's and it is always a pleasure to work with her.

Shawna and Michael had their cocktail reception in the Crystal Room and the dinner and dancing portion of their evening was in the larger Cathedral Room at St Nick's. The cocktail and dinner music featured a mix of adult contemporary and classic vocalists like Frank Sinatra and Nat "King" Cole.

The couple shared their first dance together to the song "Someone Like You" by Van Morrison. Shawna then invited her father to the dance floor and they danced to Bob Dylan's "Forever Young". The father daughter dance was followed by Michael sharing a dance with his mother to the song "Wonderful World" by Louie Armstrong.

The rest of the evening saw a lot of great partying. There was a wide range of music from current top 40 to classic wedding favorites. Like many of the couples that I work with, Shawna and Michael used my on line Pittsburgh DJ planning forms and music lists to help put their evening together.

My brother Curt of Curt's Photography was the photographer and he will be posting more photos of the event in the near future.
